SUMMARY:The next Monday night lecture on the 1st of November is on The Corpsman’s Experience in Vietnam
DESCRIPTION:During the Vietnam War\, Michael Kuklenski was assigned to a group of Marines.  A deeply religious man\, Kuklenski served as a conscientious objector\, refusing to carry a gun with him into combat zones.  On May 29\, 1969\, his group was attacked.  Despite being wounded on three separate occasions\, Kuklenski continued to treat his wounded Marines and did not stop helping until all of the wounded men had been moved to safety.  For his heroic actions that night\, Kuklenski was awarded the Silver Star. \nSteve Vineyard\, a lifelong friend of Kuklenski’s was assigned to a Marine Reconnaissance Unit.  He performed minor surgeries frequently while in the country\, working hard to assist men so they did not have to visit battalion aid stations.  Steve Vineyard earned a Purple Heart while working to save lives in Vietnam. \n \nThe Lecture will begin at 6:00pm at the museum located 1346 Bluff Street\, Muskegon\, Michigan. If you are unable to attend in person\, please contact Teresa Folkmier at tfolkmier@silversidesmuseum.org for the zoom link. The cost for attendance is $5.00 and of course\, members are always free.
