USS Silversides Museum

Navy Divers dives into the underwater world of military divers in the U.S. Navy. The exhibit focuses on the story of Carl Brashear, the first African American Master Chief Diver in the U.S. Navy, and his career through World War II and beyond.

The exhibit also features unique artifacts like our Momsen Lung, a primitive underwater breathing apparatus that predates modern SCUBA equipment. Attendees learn about dive training, dive technology, and the heroism of military divers both then and now.
