Science Below the Surface: Balance, Buoyancy, and Build Your Own ROV!
We offer exciting, hands-on STEM-focused classes designed for school-aged children (ages 5–18) to inspire curiosity and foster a love for learning. These programs are led by experienced and passionate educators who bring science, technology, engineering, and math concepts to life through engaging activities and interactive lessons. To enhance the experience, these classes can also be combined with an overnight adventure, providing a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in learning while creating lasting memories.
The basic class fee is $12.50 per participant. Groups are asked to pre-register and submit payment before the class date.
- Classes are scheduled with the Overnight Coordinator based on the group’s availability
- Adults are welcome to stay on the premises to take photos or supervise, but are not required to pay the class fee.
- For most classes, a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 20 participants may enroll.
In our STEM-ROV class, participants will dive into the physics of buoyancy and balance through engaging, hands-on activities. They’ll also learn about remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and their real-world applications. Working in teams, students will design, build, and test their own ROVs in our water tanks. By the end of the class, students will gain a deeper understanding of how submarines operate and the teamwork required to make a submarine crew successful.
